AO VET International News Digest

Issue 1

Dear Reader

Welcome to the first edition of the AO VET News Digest, our organization’s first global community newsletter.

In this edition, we will bring you up to speed on AO VET activities over the past five months. Despite the pandemic-driven absence of face-to-face, on-site courses, a lot has been happening—and you’re in the right place to read all about it.

Catch up on a true milestone in AO VET history, our first-ever online masters course conducted during the AO Davos Courses 2020; meet the newly elected Chairs of AO VET’s International Board, Education Commission, and Research and Development Commission; learn about the new AO Surgery Reference veterinary module "Cleft Lip and Palate”; and find out how an endangered African penguin got a new lease on life, thanks to AO VET’s Community Development Officer Vanessa Ferraz.

Moreover, as you may be aware, the AO Innovation Translation Center (ITC) is responsible for streamlining and driving the AO's innovation projects. Read about the newly approved 3.5 mm LCP Distal Femoral Osteotomy Plate, which was specifically developed for veterinary applications, and will make your life much easier during femoral limb alignment surgery.

We hope you enjoy this first edition of the AO VET News Digest. As always, we thank you for your engagement and we look forward to your feedback.

Best wishes

Editor-in-Chief
AO VET Community Development Chairperson-elect
